Workshop - Supply Chain/ Finance Unilever

You work for Unilever in Norland, a country in Europe quite similar to the Netherlands. You are part of a business unit that drives innovation within Unilever’s supply chain in order to improve sustainability, quality and efficiency, ultimately leading to financial growth for the company. This pressure to grow and improve is always present within Unilever. This is exactly what makes your job challenging: growth means you need to produce ever increasing volumes, while profit pressure often requires you to find cost savings. It is up to you and your team to find the best way to benefit the company.

Your manager has gathered information on several potential investment projects. However, it has to be decided which one will be most beneficial for Unilever. In order to do this, an end-to-end view of the supply chain and the financial consequences of the different projects needs to be adopted. It is up to you and your team to weigh all aspects to make sure that our resources are spend in the best way possible!

Workshop - Marketing/ Sales Unilever

You work for Unilever in Norland, a country in Europe quite similar to the Netherlands. Here you are a member of the Marketing team of Knorr. Marketing is at the heart of Unilever. Some brands are more than 100 years old, yet they remain powerful on the market today. This is all thanks to the efforts of marketeers like you, who keep on refreshing their images and launching new products to continuously fit changing customer needs. Having said that, you know that the success of innovations depend on the involvement of other business functions as well - Supply Chain for manufacturing and distribution, Customer Development to manage relationships with customers, etc.

You run the Knorr brand, selling soups, stock cubes, bouillons, seasonings and sauces. Recently, Unilever’s business in Norland has been through tough times: the economy has scarcely been growing and competition is getting harder. Next to that, sustainability is a top priority for Unilever, an area in which Knorr still has room for improvement.

It is now time to plan for next year. Your boss knows that innovation is a key driver of Unilever’s success and wants to know from your team which innovation will be the best driver for Knorr to contribute to Unilever’s sustainable growth!
